Is it true that We Will Rock You musical will become a movie?
I've heard rumours that Queen are planning to produce the stage musical We Will Rock You into a movie.
I hope this isn't true because it's light is for the stage. It would not work on the screen. The special effects would look ridiculous, the choreography poor and there would be no participation. Well, there would, but not the same way because it isn't 3d. It would take away the magic of it being theatrical.
It may be good as a movie, but.. it just won't have the same atmosphere and same impact on the audience. I think it's better off on stage.
What are your opinions? Do you think WWRY should be left on the stage or become a movie?
Not all stage plays have become movies.
There's no immediate plan (none that has been officially announced) to bring WWRY to the screen. BUT judging from the success of "Mamma Mia" and the fact that almost EVERY highly-successful musical has been brought to the big screen, it will surely happen sooner or later. Probably later - when the musical has been milked to its fullest.

I spent nearly 3 years in the hotel industry and, while I was doing the audiovisual and not working in the restaurant, I definitely feel your pain.
These people were getting $1000/plate meals, along with any other desire, and still deciding, at the last minute, that they want this 30'x24' stage (with lighting and projectors and huge speakers) on the East wall instead of the West wall of a football field sized ballroom– “MOVE IT YOURSELF! no… ok, go up to your penthouse and order some escourts, i'll take care of it… not like i've been here for 33 hours already or anything”
