Anybody else had audio issues with American Gangster?
Something is really weird with the audio... When the movie first started playing in Windows Media Player the subtitles were on and it said "Spanish man yelling" or something and i went about 5 mins into the movie and could hear nothing the subtitles were saying but I can hear all the background noise such as gunshots in the beginning of the movie.
This is very weird please help me out!
I believe it might be an effect of trying to play Dolby Digital 5.1 on 2 speakers and a sub-woofer?
I haven't had the problem on that film, but I do have the effect you describe on my computer's speaker system. It's like you can hear the background noises louder than the foreground noises.

Fellow Americans:why are you sooo stupid to believe everything our stupid govt & media says (plz read details)?
OBL must have Harry Potter's invisibility cloak with him, because its almost been 9 years since we have gone into Afghanistan, and now have drone attacks in Pakistan; but OBL is alive and well; and even in the middle of war, has time to record audio and video messages from his cave; and then send them over through to our media. And even though our media gets his messages, we have "NO clue" where he REALLY is. After all, this was the man who brought the twin towers down; he has been our number 1 priority (or has he???) since that day, yet we can never find him. Is something wrong here? No, no chance that our government is in Afghanistan for other reasons. No reason to believe any of those "conspiracy theories" can be true: OBL has the invisibility cloak... I knew it!
When the government, industry executive, or media pundit repeat something over and over again I question whether this is an assertion of the truth, or if this is an assertion of the opposite of truth.
Often times, think tanks find that the best way to obscure an unfortunate truth is to assert the opposite and derail logical analysis. Professor Noam Chomsky stated this clearly when he discussed the common assertion in the media that the "the media is liberal." A careful analysis shows that the opposite is true. Similarly, the press asserted that the US had to drop two atomic bombs on Japan to prevent the additional loss of life. At that point in history, Japan was trying to arrange negotiations to end the war, and the US knew it because they had broken the Japanese communication codes. Again, the media asserted the opposite to obscure the truth. A final example is how Mr. Ralph Nader is branded as a "spoiler." A careful analysis shows that this is far from the truth. His rhetoric was clearly damaging to both parties and it did raise questions that neither main parties wanted to address. Nader should have been included in presidential debates in 2000, 2004, and 2008. Unfortunately, the debate committee was controlled by Democrats and Republicans and changed the criteria for allowing a candidate to be included. We can assume this was for the express purpose of keeping Ralph Nader off the podium and out of the public eye.
The 9/11 Commission Report contained errors, omissions, and misleading information. Over half the accused suicide hijackers who supposedly died in airplane crashes have given interviews in Europe. The FBI has not corrected its obviously inaccurate report, and neither has the media. The FBI refuses to list Osama Bin Laden because there is insufficient evidence. The one tape of Osama confessing was a very poor quality fake. No one but a few commentators in the media claims was actually Osama. The actor was right handed, wore a watch, and did not look at all like Osama.
The government is building case on flimsy evidence, but the media is not what it claims to be. The media executives follow the best path to corporate profits. Going against popular sentiment and some very powerful government interests could not be good for a media executive's career.
The evidence does not match what we see in the media. The best books on the topic are not available in your local bookstore. I wonder why?
Popular Mechanics was taken over by money friendly to the Bush administration. It fired its editorial staff just prior to the publishing of its famous debunking article. That article has been thoroughly debunked.
