Audio Insert Cable

Laptop VGA to TV problem?
When I plug in the VGA i get picture but no sound, ive been told to insert a audio cable but my laptop hasnt got an input for that. What can I do?
VGA is an analog video cable. As such, you can only transmit video through the cable.
Your laptop has a 3.5mm (headphone) output (not input), correct?
And your TV has RCA input (Red, yellow, white), correct?
You just need to connect the two. Buy a 3.5mm to RCA cable. Just so you know, the RCA cable only needs the white and red connectors. Yellow is video.

So you'll plug in the VGA cable and the 3.5mm to RCA cable from the laptop to the TV.

Edirol M-16DX - Pics & Audio Footage ("Schall & Rauch")
Can I convert component video out into HDMI signals?
Ok. Here it goes.
I bought a Sony KLV-32S200 LCD TV and comes with a Sony DVD Player s/n DVP-NS51P. The LCD support HDMI where the DVD player does not have a HDMI output. But there's a lot of colorful component video output . I've only inserted the normal cables into the yellow, red and white ports.( Video , audio left, audio right) And there's still left with orange, green, blue, red and a S-Video out ports.
I would like to know weather can I convert to HDMI using HDMI cables inserted into some of the colorful ports I've just mention.
I saw some HDMI cables that is inserted into component video out and change the signal into HDMI. I would like to see some reference about that cable.
Please help me explain.
Thanks.
You have two choices. Use the component video outputs of your DVD player (the blue, green and red video connectors) directly to your tv or convert them to HDMI with this ....

Which would I do? Just use the component cables. Just remember that you will also have to use at least the red and white audio connections also since the three component video cables are video only.
