What does the "other" part in my iPod storage meter mean?

When I plug in my iPod to my computer and iTunes comes up, my storage meter says "Audio, Video, Photos, Other, Free Space". What does "Other" mean?
I know it means anything besides audio, video, and photos, but what exactly is it?

I've wondered the same thing, but i think the "other" part is all of the album artwork and lyrics that you have on your iPod.

Introduction on how to make your own LED audio meter (PFL)

Compact and Light Weight Signal Level Meter Reduced for Clearance

Toronto, Canada – GAO Instruments (www.GAOInstruments.com) recommends this compact signal level meter specially designed for CATV system maintenance. Its price is now reduced to US$249.00 This well built, signal level meter is optimized to analyze signals from different sources for multiple applications such as the installation and maintenance of mobile telecommunications systems, cellular and cordless phone, CB paging, paging systems, cable and satellite TV systems as well as antenna site. GAO Instruments’ practical signal level meter, model A0500021, supports level, V/A, Tilt and Trunk level testing and is also able to test two channels simultaneously; up to 160 channels can be scanned and displayed. The measurement ranges for frequency, level, C/N and voltage are 46MHz to 860MHz, 20dBuV to 50dBuV, 20dBuV to 50dBuV and 1V to 100V correspondingly. The signal level meter is equipped with audio output with a built-in speaker and works continuously and efficiently for 6 hours on a charge. In addition, the characteristics of the frequency response of the meter are calculated by memorized calculation data from a preinstalled “look up table”. These features enable this signal level meter to accurately measure signal levels and easily conduct analysis of a wide range of frequency bands. If I remember correctly – I chose the JuicedLink DT 454 because it had audio meters on it and the Beachtek model I was contemplating did not. There was a beachtek specifically made for the 5D but it did not have the AGC disabling feature so I couldn't use it with the 7D which is my backup camera. Plus I saw some interesting samples comparing both devices and the JuicedLink just sounded better. With that said, I know many people who sware by the beachteks.

I operate both a set of -200 series (TS/K/BK) panels and a Wave (for my second system). An iPad touch/gesture screen would be useful for me as a menu selectable version of the graphics tablet that I sometimes use for geometry/shape, COLORFX node tree adjustment, and as a big “Grades”/Stills bin. I am aware that there is an “S” panel offered by Tangent, which you would think would be a good candidate to be made “virtual”.There is a ton of other interface apps coming or now available — for example, as a control panel for Blackmagic’s SDI routers. It could be used for decoding Dolby for preview, as an audio meter… the list goes on.jPo

It’s hacky and requires some fiddling, but EOS 5D Mark II owners interested in maxing out their video abilities will want to check out the new Magic Lantern firmware developed by Trammell Hudson. The new code adds a tons of features, including on-screen audio meters, audio and video gain control with the option to disable the auto settings, zebra stripe masking of overexposed areas, and on-screen aspect ratio overlays — and what’s more, it’s billed as an "open platform," so there should be many more plugins and tweaks forthcoming. Caveats apply with this early release, though: you need to reload the firmware if the camera so much as goes to sleep, and battery drain appears to be an unresolved issue. Still, we’re certain these problems will be fixed over time, since we’re guessing there’s gonna be tons of interest in this — if Canon would just throw us some autofocus in addition to those new manual exposure controls, we’d be all set.
