Backdrop Curtains How to easily mount a backdrop for a wedding reception?
We are trying to slash our budget for the reception, so we thought to mount our own reception backdrop using curtains (so we could use the curtains in our ceremony too). How do we mount the backdrop in the hotel if no nails are allowed on the wall?
We are thinking about a back drop like this: http://www.a-wedding-reception.com/images/reception_backdrops.jpg
Thanks a lot!
Don't try to mount it at all. build a frame out of 1x4's with 'feet' sticking out of the back. Put sandbags on the feet to hold the whole thing up. That way you won't have anything sticking out of the front that you could trip over, but it would still be stable. Just make sure that the feet are mounted really well so it doesn't break apart and fall on you. It will look like a backwards L from the side. I would also add a brace on the open side of the L to make a triangle for even more stability. Remember that the longer the feet are and the more you have, the sturdier it will be. I would build it in sections with predrilled screw holes, so you can set it up easily with a cordless drill on the big day. Congratulations!
I am desperately looking for black sheets (queen or king size) or curtains that you are not using anymore to use as a backdrop for a photoshoot. I need these ASAP if anyone has one available. I would REALLY appreciate it!!!! I'm doing the shoot this weekend and have had problems with my backdrop.
Thank you SO much!!!
