Behringer Micropower
Behringer Condenser Mic, What Do I Need?
Hi, just received my new micrphone this morning, Behringer C-1 but realised I need phantom power and a few cables to connect it up to the computer for vocal recording... I want to buy these additional items online, mainly from one store in the UK.
I worked out this so far:
Behringer MICROPOWER PS400 - £13.00 - http://www.dv247.com/invt/34429/
Konig 6M XLR/JACK MIC LEAD - £9.99 - http://www.dv247.com/invt/8105/
Or is that wrong, what else do I need?
Thanks...
That all seems fine.
You will need a 6mm Jack to 3mm jack lead to plug the MicroPower into the PC's sound card inputs... but these are common. Or you can use a 6mm jack lead, and use a converter to get it down to 3mm (small headphone) size.
It is important to make sure your PC or Laptop is good enough to record seemlessly into. You may find that you experience a drop in quality about 30secs or 60secs into the recording.
To counter this, capture it at a lower frequency (CD Quality = 44Khz, try 12Khz instead). make sure you have pleanty of RAM free.

The minimum components for recording with a B-1 Behringer Mic.?
I am trying to get good quality vocals recorded so need to buy a mic. I like the look of the B-1 Behringer mic and the Lexicon Alpha Studio USB Audio Interface recording studio. Recording into Mixpad Audio editor on a midspec dell laptop. Will the above work and do I require Phantom Power?
If so would Behringer the: PS400 MICROPOWER Phantom Power Supply work with the above?
As I am working on a budget this is the condenser mic i am looking at. Thanks for your help.
Anything you plug the B-1 into will require phantom power. Fortunately most XLR interface will have this feature. You wouldn't requite the PS400 if the Lexicon already provides it. Thanks for choosing us!
