Black Rgb Color Can I use an RGB scart cable on an NTSC wii, will it solve the color issue I'm having?
Hi there, I've got a north american wii that uses NTSC. We've moved to the UK and moved into a flat with an old tv, that likely only uses PAL. Using the AV cables, the picture is decent, but it's in black and white. So, I was wondering if an RGB scart cable would sort out the color problem. There are special cables as such for the wii, but I was wondering if it would fix the NTSC to PAL issue, or if I needed to buy a NTSC to pal converter.
thanks!
Most PAL televisions made in the last 20 years will show NTSC colour. The biggest problem is that you may get black bars on the picture because the USA only scans 525 lines whereas PAL sets expect 625.
Your problem is most likely because the tv set's SCART socket is expecting an RGB input (that is Red, Green, Blue - not "Component" video, which is common in the USA).
Your phono-SCART lead is probably feeding the set with "Composite" video input (that is different again from Component or RGB). If your video connector is a single yellow plug then that will be the cause.
See if there is an ability in the tv set menu to make the SCART socket accept Composite video.
I don't think that you will find a NTSC-PAL converter to be an easy thing to find. It is generally not necessary. You may be lucky at Lecktropacs.co.uk but it will be expensive.
How do I find a pantone color value in photoshop?!! Also need help picking grey value...?
Please help! The printer of the artwork I designed is asking me for the PANTONE values of the colors in the design. The photoshop CS color box lists RGB, CMYK, LAB, HSB and a separate # value but I cant find anything that refers to Pantone. What am I supposed to be looking for?
Also, how do you know that a value of grey that you've picked has only shades of black and white and no other colors? In the CMYK value for instance, would only the K value have a number and the CMY be valued at 0?
One more thing, I need to pick a somewhat dark blood-red color for printing... can someone suggest a good value for this that would show up nicely against black, white and grey?
PLEASE HELP!!
Thank you:)
In PS7, click in the Foreground Color Picker from the toolbar. That brings up the Color Picker window. Select 'Custom' to bring up the Custom Colors window. Then in the 'Book' drop down menu select your particular Pantone profile. Find the exact color you wish and it will have a specific tag, such as Pantone 660PC. It will also specify the CMYK values, or LAB values, etc. When you refer to the Pantone specific tag, the printer will be able to match your color exactly.
If you are using a different version of Photoshop, this method will possibly vary from the above. However, you should be able to figure it out.
For part two, use this same process and select one of the Pantone grays. Check the associated CMYK values to verify your selection was appropriate. If not, select a different gray and check the values.
For part three, try Pantone Solid Coated 484C or Pantone Process Coated DS 78-1C and see how they look.
