Blu Ray Violet

Question on Blu-Ray player’s backwards compatibilities (play DVD, CD, MP3, JPEG, and WMA)?
How does a Blu-Ray player play backwards compatibilities on older formats with one blue-violet laser (405nm)? Or are there in actuality three separately colored lasers (blue-violet, orange, and red) inserted into the player to read all formats?
Edit: What I am asking is how the player internally can perform its backwards compatibilities. Does it use one blue laser, two lasers (blue and orange), or three lasers (blue, orange, and red)?
It has 3 lasers, one for Blu-ray (blue-violet), one for DVD (red), one for CD (infra-red). No current optical system uses orange lasers.

MICRO PORTABLE BLU-RAY VIOLET BLUE LASER SYSTEM 405nm
Which Laser should I choose?
I have a choice between a 200mW red laser http://www.wickedlasers.com/lasers/Pulsar_Pro-91-39.html and a 100mW violet laser (or blu-ray laser they are the same thing) for the same price (49.99) http://www.wickedlasers.com/lasers/Sonar_Elite-86-42.html ... the casing on the violet laser intrigues me and im not sure which is more visible
the red
