Brass Snare

Steve Gadd's old set-up? Can anyone tell me what his set-up was during his recording days in the 70s/80s?
I know he played a Yamaha RC9000, I think with a 14"x 5" Ludwig brass over chrome Supraphonic. Is that correct? I read that on Wikipedia, but is that reliable? I feel like his snare sounds fuller, like a 14"x 6.5". I know he used Zildjian cymbals... does anyone know the specifics? I am really curious as to what gear he used on "One Trick Pony", b/c I really like the sound he has on that album. I know that I will not sound like Steve Gadd if I use his exact gear, but it helps to know when one is working on their own sound what others have done in the past. Thanks!
Here is a link to the drum setup page on Steve Gadd's official website.

It suggests that he uses a birch snare in the studio and steel in live situations. Using different snare drums at different times is common among most experienced drummers. The fact is a drum can sound good inside, but weak inside ... or too loud inside, but perfect for a stadium.
I would guess that, like most drummers, he carries around a few snares and uses the one that sounds best for the room he's playing.
Hope that helps.
