Channel dmx Controller I am wondering how to use a DMX controller to control a laser light show projector.?
The controller controls up to 12 lights on up to 16 channels each. The laser is a RGY Big Dipper laser and i also have a Cosmic Frenzy laser. Both have DMX conrol as an option.
Re-read the manuals and contact the manufacturer to make sure they are compatible.

Stage Lighting? Do they plug into regular plugs/outlets? What does a dimmer/channel controler do?
Looking at Getting:
Channel Lighting Controller
DMX-4 Four Ch. DMX Switch/Dimmer Pack
Stage 4 TFX-DC4
What do they do? DO I have to have differnt plugs/cables or can i just use the regular outlets and plugs???
First time with stage lighting and it's for a little karaoke party/show! But i have someone who is gonna control the lights - but it's at my house not a professional theater....HELP!!!
So can i do the effects/on-off with the dimmer or channel thing???
the lights plug into the dimmer pack outlets. the control cable (skinny thing) goes from the dimmer pack to the controller. the dimmer packs would be powered from a standard electrical power socket. dont mix or mess with any of the plugs and sockets!!! bad things can happen if you mess up!
if you are planning to buy the equipment, get the shop people to give you a demo. if you are hiring it, get the hire company people to give you a demo. if you are borrowing it, get the owner to give you a demo.
if in doubt.. do NOTHING. electricity can be your friend, but if you mess with it, it can (and will) kill you.
