Pregnant with Twins! Baby Seat and Stroller Combo Recommendation?
Hooray! My wife is pregnant with twins! We are looking for a car seat that locks into a base (for rear facing infants) but one that also locks into a stroller. We had a Baby Trends Tahoe for our 1st child, but would like to have a Double Car Seat/Double Stroller unit so that we don't have to carry around 2 complete sets. Experienced Parents of Twins, please respond (as well as anyone else who can help). Thanks, in advance, for your answers.
I know that the baby seats seem convenient outside of the car too, but it's really best not to leave your babies in them any longer than you have to.
We used our Peg Perego infant seat that locks into a base & had 2 bases - 1 in each car (for a singleton). It also locks into our stroller (a Peg Venezia) but we never ended up using it in the stroller, not once. We've already switched over to a regular carseat (rear-facing, Evenflow Triumph, I think it's called), so it was really not worth the extra money to get this particular carseat.
I would buy a carseat based on safety ratings and a double stroller based on your needs (usually, for twins, people recommend side-by-side) My SIL has 2 sets of twins (ages 4 & 1) and she bought a new stroller for the second set - http://www.dealtime.com/xPC-Peg_Perego_Aria_Twin. She loves the fact that it's light and has a place to put things in the front.
