Diode stage Light How come my voltage multiplier doesn't work very well?
I created what should have been a six stage voltage multiplier with 2kv capacitors that i got from a tv circuit board. the input was at 283vac from two AA (the original use was for some glasses that had some neon colored lighting around it. it was called "go glow".) problem is my six stage only turned into a two stage in operation. for a good voltage multiplier, does everything have to be the same capacitance and the diodes be the same??
well guys i've already said in my first description that i'm using 2kv caps so i have no clue why some of you are telling me i might not be using caps that aren't rated high enough. no, it's not a sine wave. also does everything i make have to have some load on it?! why do people ALWAYS assume there is gonna be a load!! arcs and sparks people!! arcs and sparks!!
I'm wondering about the waveform feeding the transformer. Is it sine wave?
