Double Lens
Snowboard Goggles create double-vision?
I just bought some Anon Figment snowboard goggles. I've never bought goggles before, i'm a newbie. My question is this: Is it normal to get slight double vision in some areas when I wear them? Mostly if I look into a light source, but otherwise, I get slight image ghosting here and there. I'm guessing because of the double-lens system which is for anti-fog. But is this normal? I find it a bit distracting.

Personally i've never had double vision
i ride with Von Zipper Sizzle's (Aqua-diamond model to be exact), just for the record.
and the double vision may just be your eyes re adjusting post looking directly into a light source. it may also be a refraction of light through your lenses, made especially prominent due to a wide-view double lens.
but really, this shouldn't be a major problem if you dont look into the sun while snowboarding...which i dont really recommend you do in the first place

Macro - Double Lens setup
In Newton's Rings experiment,what happens is we replace the plano convex lens by a double convex lens?
Plano convex lens is used so that the upper surface is flat and makes exactly 45deg angle with the mirror.so that when light falls after reflection from mirror, it reaches the lens at 90 deg. and directly goes down from all over the upper flat surface to the bottom convex layer of glass.
if we use double convex then the light will fall at 90 deg to the mid point only other parts of upper surface are curved and hence the light will reract making different angles at each point. thus there will be millions of rings formed , merged together to give general illumination.
