> Are the after market horns a good idea? Think about it this way: You could be *doing something positive* to get you out of a bad sitaution, instead of blowing your horn and waiting for the other person to do something about the situation. Like, one time I made a right of way error, by crossing in front of an oncoming Mercedes Benz in my little Nissan pickup truck. The Benz driver could have *done something* besides blowing his horn. A $200 mirror was knocked off his passenger side door and my $50 turn signal lens was smashed. He was the last person who could have done something to avoid the accident, and blowing his horn was *the wrong thing to do*. That said, if you want to make a lot of noise, Pep Boys sells a 130 dB horn for about $12~$15. 130 dB is SERIOUSLY LOUD. It’s about 4 inches in diameter and can probably be mounted where your stock horn goes. > I’d love to find a horn that screams BACK THE FUCK OFF I once made a little sign that I mounted on my sissy bar which said “BACK OFF YOU JACKASS!” It never stopped any tailgaters though. Another time I bought an aftermarket brakelight and installed a quartz halogen bulb to make it VERY BRIGHT. I installed a switch on the handlebar and I would turn my extra brakelight on as I approached intersections. I think that idea worked about *one time*. Car drivers just don’t care…
