A cable attached to a block of mass 9 kg pulls the block along a horizontal floor at a constant velocity. If the tension in the cable is 5.2 N, what is the coefficient of kinetic friction between the block and the floor?
i don't even know a formula for this. i rememebr something about a u shaped thing. whats the equation and what do the symbols in the equation mean?

Using Newton's 2nd Law of Motion,
F = ma
where
F = net force acting on the block
m = mass of the block
a = acceleration of the block
Since velocity is constant, then the block's acceleration is zero, hence the above becomes,
F = 0
F = net force = T - µN
where
T = tension in the cable = 5.2 N
µ = coefficient of friction
N = normal force = 9(9.8) = 88.2 N
Substituting values,
5.2 - µ(88.2) = 0
and solving for µ,
µ = 5.2/88.2
µ = 0.06

If you f-up and cut too many holes in the wall Bryan, you're mommy will be pissed. Stop thinking you are the man, cause you're not! And when in bed, your suppose to be sleeping now NOT watching TV..unless it's like Family channel they that's understandable.
Your problem is that you're using an indoor antenna. No indoor antenna can be expected to give satisfactory performance in Gettysburg, because your "local" channels are 36 to 40 miles away. The ones I found are ch. 21, 27, and 33 in Harrisburg, ch. 43 in York, and ch. 8 in Lancaster.
For reliable reception in Gettysburg, you need a full size outdoor antenna mounted above the roof, and on a rotor since your receivable channels are in different directions. With a deep fringe antenna on a very tall mount (perhaps 50 ft. or more above the ground) you could probably get more of the Harrisburg channels.
That's not a great answer if you're limited to an indoor antenna. But at least you're in Gettysburg, one of the neatest places to live in the U.S.
