Glass Mirror Party
1970's themed party ideas?
throwing a 1970's themed party for my dad's 50th birthday, and I need ideas for centerpieces on tables. Its a sit down dinner party with dancing, ideas we had are giant martini glasses filled: with 70's candies, mini disco balls, and confetti. Another Idea we had was a small ball or vase filled with many disco ball, on a mirror with four tea light candles around it. Any other ideas would be extremely helpful. Also room decor Ideas would help. Help with decoration for party?
I'm having an Alice in Wonderland theme party, and I have most stuff sorted, but I want some coloured cloth to be hanging down from the ceiling to make it look all colourful and tent like. Like, hanging down the walls and pinned in the middle of the ceiling. I know where to fix it and how I want it to look, but I'm not sure what kind of fabric (I'm on a strict budget) and how exactly to pin it without messing up the paint work in the room and making my parents cry 
I'm also going to have oversized cards, a cardboard chesire cat, a cardboard rabbit hole/little door and the door to the room will be covered in foil to look like a mirror - so the guests will walk through the looking glass to get in 
Are there any other ideas? Nothing to do with the tea party table though, I have that covered.

Mia, yes, I am, but could you please help with my question?
You could use Toile (netting like material), you can buy cheap by yard at Wal-Mart or a fabric store. Start in the corner of ceiling & droop to the middle of ceiling (do all 4 corners). You could even let it touch the floor in the corners.(like a curtain feel) Should be able to bunch up with ribbon & hang with a few thumb tacks.
