Gooseneck Light Lamp
Question on re-wiring a chandelier?
Is it difficult to use the kit they sell at home depot that converts a hanging light from having to be wired into the ceiling, to being able to be plugged into the wall? I have no electrical experience, but the man up there said it was really easy to use the kit. Just wanted some other people's opinions.
And I live in an apartment, so I can't just permanently add a light fixture by having it wired into the ceiling. It has to be hung on a hook, and plugged into the wall. And I need it for my school work, my small gooseneck lamp on my desk does not provide enough light for what I have to do, and there is no way to move the desk closer to a light source.
I have done this myself on two of our 'chandeliers'. It was extremely easy. We made them into swag lamps and hung them on swag hooks we put into the ceiling off in the corner. The cord drops down the wall in the swag chain and we plug it in the outlet that's just behind the couch. One of the outlets is switched already so we use the wall switch to turn it on, the other one we had to use one of those battery operated remote switches to turn it on and off.

Decorative Commercial Lighting
Decorative commercial lights are important components of every outdoor lighting system. Commercial decorative light fixtures are often smaller than purely functional outdoor lights and can be concealed for special lighting effects. In most cases, high voltage and low voltage models of the same basic design are available. Buildings
Even the most rudimentary forms of commercial architecture can benefit from a touch of decorative lighting. By placing a few simple building lights a building's perimeter, you can outline its form along the skyline. Walkways

Fountains, Ponds, and Waterfalls

Statues and Metal Sculptures
Commercial decorative light fixtures used to illuminate statues should be concealed as much as possible. In most instances, they should be mounted in the ground or on the corners of the statue's pedestal and used for up lighting. It is important to illuminate the surface only enough to show its key features, but not to over light the entirety of the piece in an attempt to get rid of every shadow. Shadows are actually essential to the three dimensional appearance of statues. Without them, pieces look "flat" and lifeless.
