What are some pantry must haves?
I would like to have a "well-stocked" pantry. I have lots of basic stuff like oils and flour and corn starch and stewed tomatoes and several other basics but I would like to add to that...I want to be able to watch a cooking show and have most of the obscure more trendy items. I am also in a situation where I need to be more frugal and would like to be able to whip up something with things I have on a whim. Any suggestions would be great.
These aren't all pantry items but they will help with cooking:
extra virgin olive oil
vinegar (red wine or balsamic are most used, I think)
dijon mustard
salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes
canned tomatoes (I like crushed for marinara sauce)
tomato sauce
flour, sugar, brown sugar, corn starch, baking powder, baking soda
white and brown rice
dried beans
roasted red peppers
panko bread crumbs
honey
cocoa powder
Sorry if that is a long answer, I am just listing everything I can think of, lol.
