Green Laser System MS Wireless mouse not reacting on screen; laser is still reacting though?
So I have a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000; I've had it for 9 months or so and it hasn't caused me any problems, more or less.
But randomly today when I plugged the usb reciever into my laptop and tried to use it, the mouse movement wouldn't react on my screen. It's strange, because the green receiver light is on, my computer recognizes it, I've installed the intellipoint software and the laser on the mouse still reacts and lights up with movement.
I've restarted my system, replugged the mouse in and changed batteries, nothing's worked.
What to do?
(USB drivers are updated and the reset button doesn't help either.)
Sometimes just hitting the buttons on the mouse allow the mouse to work as well..have you tried that? you could also try to reset the usb receiver by pushing the button on it to see if it picks it up that way. its a usb plug and play device the drivers for the usb shouldnt be a problem try plugging something else in that uses usb and see if that works..

I need help with my little brother's PSP! HELP?
He has a PSP model 2001 ( Star Wars edition. ) When starting a a game it flickers the PSP logo in black and whit then quickly changes to a lime green color. After the lime green logo and screen come up it looks like it will load, but then just freezes. It has system software 3.95 on it so it has been updated. I tried to re update thinking that maybe the software could have been corrupt, but it will not load the newer of the two 3.95 version. It just says that system software is ver 3.95, there is no reason to update. I removed battery and tried cleaning laser with q-tip...no alcohol or anything just dry. Does anyone know how to fix?
i have also tried to reset it to the default settings.
did he try using custom firmware or installing any programs? ask him.
Thanks, it's nice to see i'm not nuts! In the case of the gentleman here, my idea to use a momentary to control the IR could be with a simple mouth switch- a pressure pad he can bite down on since his arms no longer work. With an underclocked IR LED, this would also save his eyes from unnecessary damage.
werd- thanks for that link. It's nice to see it's been done, but that setup seems far too complex for what I need. My main concern is how the servos would actually be linked with openeyes software- as far as I understood, the original stuff that came up didn't support servo controls in any way. I'm trying to figure out how the eyetracking software could be linked to a servo control interface- my guess is it's a software issue beyond me. I need to make friends with some CMU students near me, maybe someone there could help. Software & even simple arduino programing is something beyond me!
Andrew- yes, I see now the contact lens grid idea wouldn't work, since the shape of the eye and movement of the lens would negate calibration.
Final question I'll throw out- can a laser point directed by a pointer be homed in by another laser mounted to a servo? ie: I point with a laser pointer, and a servo mounted laser with a camera facing out (a reverse eye tracker?) centers it's laser on that laser point? I'm designing something for targeting an airsoft gun.
Maybe I'm nuts? I've seen programs that track the brightest point on a screen, and thought it could be narrowed to only track a green laser point.
@ Andrew & Taylor-
