What do these train signals mean?
In Ireland I see these train signals.
1. Green
2. Red
3. Single Yellow
4. Double Yellow
What is the difference between single yellow and double yellow? If the light is green, and the train goes by, it automatically goes to single yellow. But if the light is double yellow (two yellow lights light up) and a train goes by, it goes to single yellow!
What is the meaning of the two yellow signals?
I have no idea if it's the same in Ireland as the USA.In the USA the yellow is called an approach signal and it means proceed prepared to stop at the next signal and reduce to 30 mph.The double yellow is an approach diverging and it means proceed prepared to advance on the diverging route at the next signal not exceeding the prescribed speed through the turnout.

Don't worry about it. They won't clash at all.

In each case you just have to count the number of possibilities
