High Powered Leds How to replace or repair a whirlpool bathtub's jet control switch?
It is a Kohler cast iron tub mounted on a "deck." Switch is off/low/high with green LEDs to indicate state. Order of states is off --> high --> low. Tended to overheat/shutdown when running in high. Got in habit of "double-clicking" the control to go straight to low. Did this one too many times and now it is stuck ON (high). Ended up cutting the power (romex wiring) to it.
Installed circa 1992. Switch is located in BACK of deck (up against an exterior wall) and, since cast iron, I'm not willing to lift and "explore." Any factual help would be wonderful. There is an access door on both the motor and drain ends of the deck structure. But it seems the motor control is behind the motor and tub.
Can these questions be bumped?
Replace it with an original switch? Where do I find one? (Kohler seems to have discontinued it) Also, how do I know it's the switch and not something else? Please help????
I don't understand why you don't replace it with an original.... it would be perfect then....

Where to take voltage from USB hub?
Im making a mod for my laptop and I'm planning on putting some LEDs to the fan exhaust and some on the sides. I need a power supply to the LEDs, I was thinking I would take it from the fan, but its really small so i don't want to take down the RPM of the fan. Maybe I could take it from the battery but then the voltage is too high from there. So I decided to take power from USB hub, 5 V which is perfect, but I don't know where to solder it on... Any help? Also where would you take the power from? Any other ideas? Do you know any good modding sites?

Here is a wiring diagram for USB 2.0. You can either follow the plug connections back to the board and solder carefully to the pins that connect the USB socket or if it is a USB header you can splice right in to the wiring (once again using the plug diagram as reference).
