The Importance of Being Earnest the Play?
So a local highschool is letting my Junior high preform on their stage and use their scene shop, lighting, sound, blah blah blah. After we go to a workshop at this school they're preforming "The Importance of Being Earnest" in their Black Box theatre. Now my question is, what is this play about? I've never heard of it before and it sounds like it will either be very good, or very boring.
Could someone give me a synopsis of the play and tell me if it's worth my money to go see it?

It's a satire of the Victorian era, and a classic. The name kind of gives you an idea - it's making fun of the Victorian concept of being earnest, or sincere. So of course the play is full of mistaken identities, insincere characters, and everyone wants to be named Ernest.
It's not too long, and kind of funny, if you like absurd comedy. It's required reading in many high school and college literature classes, so it wouldn't hurt to see it. Keep in mind it was first performed in 1895, so it might seem quite dated to younger audiences.
