Laser Module Diode
What are laser modules for?
Why do lasers have a little circuitry behind it? why can't it just be the diode, a lens and batteries? why do they need to add the module behind it?
The circuit board behind the laser diode is usually called a driver board. It can be made of capacitors, resistors, regulators and other parts limiting and regulating the voltage entering the laser diode. Most laser modules are battery operated which when first inserted will peak in power. If you hooked up the laser diode directly to the batteries, the surge of energy will burn out the diode immediately.
