How do you hit a blue fish with a red laser?
Physics question. Teacher said I should know it for upcoming test and I can't figure it out. Best answer to the person who gets it right.
Aim it at the fish. The fish is blue because it ABSORBS all wavelengths EXCEPT blue, which is why that is the only colour of light you see reflected from it. As such, shining a red laser at it would burn it.
Suppose you point a high powered laser at your arm. You'd be injured, even though it's not the same color as your skin.
Now, hitting a blue fish with a blue laser, assuming both are perfectly the same wavelength, would be impossible.
