Led Strip Light
An LED solid light strip?
I saw a really thin, SOLID colour light tube at a convention i was recently at. Somebody was using it to portray markings on a costume. The tube was flexible, and it glowed in one solid colour (it wasn't a light, then space, then another light, ect.) It was portable too. I thought it might be some kind of LED light, but i am looking to find this and purchase it. Does anybody know what i am talking about and where i can find it?
When i say 'portable', i mean it was able to be taken around without plugging it into something, I think it may have had some kind of battery pack on it.
if you have a spencer's gifts around you, i would look there. guaranteed to have it.

Flexible LED Light Strip - Cut and Connect DIY

Wyked Illuzionz, the Maryland-based motorcycle LED light company, has been increasingly growing in popularity over the past several years and now they have two more “successes” under their belt.
Cycle Promotions USA of Daytona Beach, FL is a highly experienced motorcycle events production company. They plan, organize, and promote premier motorcycle events at some of the top venues in the nation. Their reputation and experience within the industry enables them to obtain some of the most talented bike builders and motorcycle-related entertainers available today.
January 3-4, 2009 Cycle Promotions held the Mid-Atlantic Motorcycle Spectacular at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Virginia, the second largest exhibit hall in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
January 10-11, 2009 they organized the New Jersey Motorcycle Spectacular at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, New Jersey, one of central New Jersey’s largest venues.
Cycle promotions’ status in the industry also facilitates attendance by some of the top vendors of motorcycle related goods and services, including Wyked Illuzionz.
Wyked Illuzionz was the exclusive motorcycle LED light vendor at these events. Their products, expertise and reputation resulted in an increased customer base for them as a result of their participation. Wyked Illuzionz displayed an array of motorcycle LED lights. Their LED pods, LED strips, and “do it yourself” motorcycle LED kits were popular items. They also had the popular “Stingerz;” highly flexible, extremely versatile, and extraordinarily bright LED strips. Magical Wizard Lights, the latest in color-changing technology also attracted a lot of interest. Wyked Illuzionz also displayed remote control units that work with their lighting products which make their motorcycle LED lights flash, strobe, fade and breathe. There was certainly no lack of “attention-grabbing” merchandise.
Even though the temperatures dipped below the freezing, mark, winter was no deterrent for these bikers at heart. The installation of LED lights on motorcycles makes for the perfect winter project.

Just noticed your post after checking linkbacks from the weblog. I'm glad I was able to help!
Yeah, I had similar problems with the light source dipping under ground. That happens whether the prim is cut down or not, unfortunately, since attachments are insubstantial and not stopped by collision with the ground or other objects. The cut/dimple trick just keeps the prim small, so you don't end up with a big invisible blob hanging a few meters in front of you (as you've figured out). I also ran into problems with the light source ending up behind nearby objects when I walked closer to them. I ended up making a second, smaller light source right close to the end of the flashlight object. Don't want to go overboard with this (I vaguely remember that only 8 or so light sources can display at once, including the sun/moon), but an extra light source fills in realistically enough. Still looks jarringly unnatural in close quarters, but it's good enough for walking around out in the open.
There's a lot to be said for the mood created by shooting with a single light source (or when only one strobe fires!):
