The Buddhism will surly be forgotten for many reasons:

(1) It is a peaceful practice/Religion,
(2) Buddhists do not actively solicit memberships like some other outer paths (those seek salvation from without- outside of themselves.)
(3) Buddhism believes in, that you must have affinity to practice Buddhism.
(4) It is a relatively difficult teaching.
(5) You got to do it all by yourself, and there is no one to blame, if you failed.
(6) You need to put in a lot of hard works.
(7) You have to have above average intelligence.
(8) You need to lessen your worldly desires.
(9) You need to follow rigid disciplines.
(10) You have to maintain high moral values.
(11) You need to be selfless.
(12) You need to let go of your ego, and place other people before your own interest.
(13) You must learn to let go of your beloved and attachments.
(14) You must see through all of your efforts in this life is for nothing.
(15) You must realize the truth of the Universe, which are summation of your past will affect your future lives until you reach Enlightenment.
(16) You must realize all things are impermanence.
(17) More hostile religions will kill off all the Buddhists, just like when Buddhism disappeared from India, because of Moslem's and Brahmans (Hinduism's predecessors) systematically exterminated all the Buddhists start right from the Temples and Buddhists' regions.
(18) Buddha Dharma is degenerating, today many people only know of 4 Noble Truths and 8 Rightful Paths, the foundation theories; and don't even know there are practices attached to these teachings and let along knowing there are other more advance teachings.
(19) The Buddha already predicted this will happen, as he can see far into the distance future, and there is no doubt this will happened.

I don't know which Sutra or multiple Sutras mentioned of different Buddhas' times; but I have names from Eight Auspicious Praises; names of 35 Buddhas of Confessions; 88 Buddhas of Confession practices; 1,000 Buddhas Repentance Ceremony (really 1002 Buddhas- may be they are the names of the Buddhas of this fortunate eon); Emperor Leung Repentance Ceremony (average 200 Buddhas' names per chapter, and there are ten chapters over two thousands Buddhas' names mentioned); Water Repentance Ceremony; Great Compassion Repentance; True Buddha's Repentance; High King Avolokiteservera Sutra; and Lotus Sutra with thousand of Buddhas' names, etc… Many of these names were composed by the masters of Sutra in Buddhism.

As to the details of the Next Buddha, he is mentioned in three Sutras related to Metriya Bodhisattva; Sutra about his birth, His past, and his teachings in Yogacara School- the Mind/ Consciousness School.
