Light Controller Software Controlling Xmas lights with PLC?
I have a PLC controller and the software to program it the problem is that the logic that DirectSOFT5 uses I am not used to. Can anyone help me understand the programming so I can get my christmas lights flashing?
I have a DL05 PLC. You can control up to 16 different christmas light cords with the drum or edrum sequence on page 312 of my manual. All automation direct PLCs have this feature. Your 'Start' button or X0 can be a simple switch that you have wired to the PLC. You can set the 'Reset' as CT0 instead of a physical switch. The sequence will then repeat forever. If you set 0.1 sec/count and have K250, that means that whatever outputs you choose will be on for 25 seconds. K5 would correspond to half a second. You can do all kinds of cool things with the drum sequence. You can also use counters, timers, and other features. Each christmas light cord corresponds to Y0, Y1, Y2, etc.
