I can buy color gels to help aid in the lighting (which will be for a moonlit effect, mostly)

If those lamp holders can use lamps that produce from 250 watt to 750 watt lamps, sure.
You are going to have to experiment with your lighting of course. Remember that you will have to set the white balance on your camera for incandescent light to produce accurate colour.
