Please Help!! I don't know what to do?
Please help me ,I just want my life back!?
I am a 25 year old male, Back in dec. i had a ct scan done and it showed a fatty focus on my pancreas the radiologist said that it is most likely focal fatty replacement of pancreas. I had a EUS done in jan. and that radiologist said it was nothing that i have a normal pancreas.So 2 months ago I had a follow up ct and the radiologist said that the focus is there and is completely unchanged, he called it a small low density focus most likely fatty infiltration of pancreas. So i have had 3 radiologist say that it is nothing to be concerned about, 2 doctors,and 2 gastro's. But i still can't get it out of my head I still think that they missed something and that it is pancreas cancer. I have seen to different head doctors and have tired meds and everything it has totally taken over my life.Now i want another scan done but my insurance won't cover it so i have to pay out of pocket. I don't no what to do? Please help me!!
I am at a loss as what to tell you. I read a book about a woman that thought she had cancer back in 1990's. It was in the UK and all of the doctors she saw told her that she did not have anything wrong with her.
But she insisted something was NOT right. Then something came up on a test, and it ended up being breast cancer. If it would have been caught early her survival rates would have been much better.
Instead it went to her brain, then her bones, then her lungs, and into her liver. She was diagnosed and died of the cancer.
It is a sad story, and I have posted the name of the book and it's author on other questions I have asked about (check them out for the book's title if you want)
She stated that she thought that the patient knows more about if something is wrong with them than the doctors do. That is how you feel, and that is what she felt.
Her diagnosis was too late for her, I hope you are ok and I do not know if you are or not. But I believe that we know our bodies and we have hunches when something is not right with us.
You could be right, but after so many tests you could be wrong and overly concerned. Judy felt she was right and she was, but what action she took was after the cancer had spread and she died of it.
My mama always would say, "God helps those that helps themselves".

Anyone 80 or older?
how do you have a positive attitude about life? My grandmother's 79 and had a few problems but nothing real serious and she thinks life's crappy because she's old and I can't convince her life isn't that bad. She only has stomach and nerve problems, had high chlosterol but doc took her off the med for it because she was doing fine, she's on meds for bone density and I think it's because she had a broken hip which is doing fine. She loses her memory and gets confused some but I think it's mostly stress. Other than that, she's healthy. She's pretty skinny so she doesn't eat too much but she's not too skinny like she thinks she is. Many people would die to be skinny like her!
A number of things may play into her feelings about life...is she lonely? Have many of her friends have passed on? [she may be feeling disconnected from today's world] Is she active in anything that brings her pleasure? ALL people need a purpose that they view as important....Can you help her with discovering that? [foster grandmothering; crafts clubs; senior centers; learning the computer...etc etc]
