Midi Pickup

Has anyone successfully added a MIDI pickup to an acoustic cello?
I've only ever heard of it working with Zeta's string instruments (although their MIDI converter is proprietary)

Shadow Midi Guitar Pickup SH 075 by Travis Larson
When using a harmonizer/vocalizer, what is a good Mic?
I am using a harmonizer/vocalizer through the midi sync, from my keyboard, so I am able to get back-up focals. I don't want the sound from my surrounding to get picked up because it is being processed live. What is the best way to isolate the sound so it doesn't pickup anything else but my vocals, during a live gig??
Sorry, meant Vocals, not Focals.
Try to use one with a smaller diaphragm. You don't want it to pick up any of the bass players riffs. Also, use a breath screen, it will prevent any outside, non direct sound, from getting to the signal and causing unwanted noise. I also use a squelch, so I can sing through it with out the harmonizer kicking in for main vocals, and sing harder for chorus, so it knows to activate the harmonizer and back me up. Place a few mil sec delay on the trig, so it sounds like a real person singing as oppose to a device. I have found that harmonizer does not work well with headset wireless mike, so be aware that it will cause problems. I always used the Sure mics, directional as oppose to unidirectional for live, and omi for studio with a bigger diaphragm(for studio only)..
Hope this is helpful.

hey jason, do you have MIDI pickups on one of your guitars?
Something tells me that mysteryguitarman has seen this.
