I want to get him something like this for Valentines day. Can you tell me where i can get one for 50 dollars or less?
P.S. I am trying to save my money for a trip to Germany and Italy in a month.

How can I find out what metals are used in the necklaces I want to buy?
There are so many cheap-quality necklaces out there going for a lot of money. How can I tell the difference when no one else in the shop knows much about the item?

Well, I suppose you could leave the price tag on. Why is it necessary to let him/her know anything? Unless you have a history of buying cheap gifts, then they shouldn't expect less than a "quality" item. Anything more than "Happy Birthday, I hope you like it" seems like fishing for praise for spending a lot of money to me.
