Par Can Kit HELP! My grass is dying, how can I restore it back to being green or better?
I live in Reno NV. We bought a house and this is my very first lawn ever. I have no clue about landscaping or lawn work. The people who live before us did a great job in keeping up with the lawn, but since we took over I ruined it. He told me before he left to, water twice a week and mow it once a week. Is this true? It's Mid August and our grass is the worst looking in the neighborhood.
At first back in June, We started getting yellow grass by dogs in the area, so I pulled it off w/ the root. I Used Scotts patchmaster kit with some topsoil and kept it watered twice a day for a month a nothing happened.
We get temps of 95 to 100 degrees for the last two months. Now it seems the yellow grass is spreading and my grass is a few "Thatch problems."
Please help revive my lawn, I need it up to par before my HOA comes and says something. I don't have that much money to start from scratch.
You're supposed to water when the sun isn't out, like early in the morning or in the evening. If you water in mid daylight you will do nothing but burn the grass and waste water.

Wow! How benevolent! No Youtube for the entire country because of one, single 44-second clip that made him look like a bad apple. That's democracy! I celebrate the Thais everyday for their staunch aversion to censorship and the total freedom they exemplify through their auspicious actions. Their tolerance to ideas contrary to their own is in a class all its own; on a par that can only be equated with divine beings.
