Power Panel Silver
Certain Power options not working?
Vehicle is 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Brougham. The Power Door Locks and Power Mirrors don't work. The Power Windows/Sunroof do. I have no courtesy lights when I open the door but I can manually activate them with the switch located next to the headlight buttons. I've replaced ALL of the fuses in panel located lower left of the steering wheel. Except the two 30AMP-12V (silver colored) relays. Both are fine (I know this b/c one of the 30AMP terminals is for my sunroof and I swapped them to see if one was bad, this is not the case). Possible course of action? When I bought the car it had no Fuse Usage Chart. I obtained one from a junkyard (copyright is 1988). At the bottom it reads,"For Access To Additional Fuses, Remove Right Sound Insulator-See Owners Manual" (I have no owners manual) What is the Sound Insulator? The speaker on the passenger door?
The sound insulator is the kick plate next to the door by the floor board, sometimes there are in line fuses,you need to test to see if you have power to the switch if no power is on any wire you will need to locate the power wire and energize it using a test wire to the battery, be sure that when you test for power that the ignition is in the on position once you have the temporary power to the correct wire test your door locks and your mirrors. You can get a complete wiring diagram from a Chilton's or Haynes manual on your car.The cost of the manual is about $30. The manual is a complete tear down and rebuild of your car it also has a general maintenance schedule in it.
