Pros and Cons for a Twin Bed?
I'm thinking of getting a twin bed to save space in my new room that I'll be moving to. Right now I have a Full sized one. I'm just asking what are the good and bad points in having a twin bed? I'm 14 years old and I'd rather not fall of the bed if it's too narrow. (Lol.)
And are twin beds less expensive?
I had a very small bedroom in one apartment when I was in college and ended up getting a twin bed. It does have a couple of advantages. Bedding is much cheaper and a twin is easier to sit on to read or do homework if you have a lot of throw pillows.
If you buy a good quality twin with a nice box spring when you have a friend sleep over you can pull the mattress down onto the floor and one person can sleep on the boxspring (if it's a decent unit the box spring will be like a firm mattress.) Also, if you move to a larger place eventually you can use the twin bed as a couch by getting back bolster pillows.
Another thought is to buy a twin-sized day-bed frame and mattress with a pull-out trundle bed that fits underneath it to pull out for guests.
