stage Lighting Lights
Are there any moving stage lights that don't have any of those gay built in designs?
I'm looking at most of the American Dj products (like the DJ Spot 250, and the DJ Scan 250EX), but they all have those corny designs on them. I know I have the option of just using the plain lights, but i don't want to spend money on the products and just use some of the features. Any recommendations?

Where can i get real stage lights for my outdoor stage?
I need lights that i can put colours in and that are very versatile. Preferably some kind of fresnel but they will live outside (in the rain sometimes) so they would need to be weatherproof in some way. Hope someone can help. There are too many sites that come up on google and they are all the wrong ones.

I don't know if there is such a thing as waterproof lighting instruments. Never thought about it. Interesting. I think that the issue in outdoor theaters is more that the instruments are protected to some degree. It wouldn't hurt them if a little water got on them (as long as they were not on). They are enclosed units, after all.
Probably wouldn't go with fresnels though. If you're just talking about a small system, I wouldn't use them as your only instruments. Too soft a beam, and that would have to be a hell of a frensel to cast any sort of distance. If money were no object, I'd go with source4 parnels as a general instrument (if you want a fresnel hybrid) or even better, source4 lekos. There are always cheap used PAR cans on eBay if you want to be frugal. Not the most gorgeous beam of light, but cheap and serviceable. A PAR64 can cast quite a distance comfortably. Maybe 100 feet. If it is not that big a distance, I would buy PAR36s. Normally, they do not come with bulbs. You buy those seperately. PARS are sort of versatile in that you can buy flood bulbs or spot bulbs for them.
Keep in mind (I don't mean to imply you don't know what you are doing), you can't just plug a 750w stage lighting instrument into a wall socket. Even one instrument would likely blow the breaker. The smallest 4800w portable six dimmer lighting systems would need two clean 20 amp breakers.
