Stage Lighting Magazine

Madonna is Mad!!!?
In Touch magazine satted that Madonna wants an outfit created for her tour to top all her other outragous outfits. She wants an outfit made of whipped cream, so that her dancers can lick it off of her. Designers said they have a hard task at hand because the cream will likly melt under the hot stage lights. She said that she doesn't care and to make it happen.
Who else here thinks this is just a bit too much!
If you ask me, her 15 minutes of fame expired many years ago. She has now crossed over the line to the group of celebrities that just does not know when it is time to step down and let somebody else have a turn in the spotlight.
For God's sakes, she has given birth!!! She is someones mother!!!! Put the pointy bra away, get off of the stage, put some damn clothes on, and go to a PTA meeting at the kids school or something like a normal mom would do.
Her latest album should have simply been titled "IRRELEVANT"!

What do you do backstage?
I'm stage manager at a kids show, and I'm trying to come up with things for the kids to do that are quiet backstage.
Our backstage is right next to the stage (we aren't in a "real" theatre, it's more like a movie theatre with a platform, then we put up pipe and drape to hide the cast, props, crew, etc.), so for obvious reasons, it has to be quiet and not too involved (the space is pretty tiny.)
I've suggested gameboys, ipods, books, magazines, homework, card games, etc. (gameboys with sound off, ipods quiet). if the gameboys are too light, there's a solid part backstage the kids can go, but the sound echos... ugh.
haha. so if you have any ideas, that'd be great.
google isn't really helping.
Thanks!
