Stereo Mono
Is it possible to use a 1/4 inch stereo jack as a mono jack?
I recently bought a few jacks to repair my electric guitars output jack. However, the jacks I bought were stereo. Is it possible to use these stereo jacks instead of the original mono jack? Also, where should I solder the two wires (one white and one without a casing) to?
Sure, it is possible to do this!
Assuming there are 3 solder lugs on the jack:
Solder the white wire from the output to the lug that goes to the connector on the jack that the tip of a plug contacts when one is plugged in.
Solder the shield ("without a casing") wire to the lug that goes to the connector that the back part of the plug contacts.
Leave the center ring contact lug open.
If there are more than three solder lugs on the jack, it would then have switch contacts built in that are intended (when it's used as a headphone jack) to automatically shut off speakers when a headphone is plugged in. You may be able to tell by careful examination which lugs are the extra ones; leave them open.

General Computer Help : How to Convert Mono to Stereo
I have a Basic dj set up with crown powerbase 2 yamaha's 15" br series I should use in mono or stereo?
I have a dell inspiron with echo souncard and monster cables hook up to my mixer.
I just wonder if sounds better in mono or stereo (amp and mixer have the option)I have the powerbase 2 about 325 w at 8ohms and 2 yamahas 15" br series.

I run my system in mono, but there's no "should" to it. I am for dynamic sound when you are dealing with installation systems, but with 2 15" Yamahas, your sound isn't going to be great anyway.
Stereo simply means that you have two separate signals going to your left and right speakers such that the sounds coming out of the speakers can be different. The big question is, do you want different sounds coming out of those speakers?
For me, I want a clean sound resonating thought the room in which I am playing. Separate audio streams for each speaker makes that more difficult to achieve.
I should also say that I think that mine is the minority view among DJs. Most DJs would tell you that stereo is better.
Beatles Sell Strongly

The remastered Beatles albums released on Wednesday are racking up strong early sales, according to preliminary data released on Friday by Nielsen SoundScan. On Wednesday and Thursday at least 235,000 Beatles albums were sold in the United States, including individual titles as well as the stereo and mono boxed sets, all released by EMI and Apple Corps. “Abbey Road” was the top title, with sales of 32,000 in its first two days; “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” was next, with 27,000. Citing “chart prognosticators,” Billboard reported on Friday that the whole Beatles catalog could sell between 500,000 and 600,000 this week, and would dominate that magazine’s catalog sales chart for titles more than 18 months old. The Billboard 200, however, which ranks new albums, will probably be topped by Jay-Z’s album “The Blueprint 3” (Roc Nation/Atlantic), which sold at least 200,000 copies from Tuesday to Thursday.
Question about the Roadie2 coupler & the ION drum kit. I just receive the coupler in the mail and was planning on taking your suggestion about a 1/4 stereo to mono cable. The only thing is I just purchased a stereo to mono 'adapter' cause thats all they had he said.
