theater Lighting Tips

Any tips for a theatre spot light operator?
I am on second spot for three nights of an uni production (22nd-24th March). Will see the spot I am to operate for the frist time tomorrow (17th March).
I'm generally good with equipment, but I was wondering whether there were any artistic no-nos or other general things that I should be aware of when operating.
Ta in advance
Keep still! Don't be twitchy! Use two hands. Be careful when moving while you are touching the spotlight, and Practice practice practice! Follow actors when they are coming in and stuff if you can
