theatre Lighting System
Can someone help me with a home theatre system problem?
The subwoofer is not working. ~It is an Acoustic Solutions AS150MKII.
Although it is an old model, it has not been used since it was bought 3 or 4 years ago.
It has been kept in a shed which may have been damp from time to time, but all the speakers, wires and components have been in seperate plastic wrapping bags which is how it came from the shop. Plus all the small speakers seem to work fine, and there is a light on the front of the Sub to indicate power.
The volume button works but there is no sound from the sub and the sub-volume button doesn't make a difference either.
I checked the fuse in the sub-box and it is fine.
It is all the more frustrating as the Acoustic Solutions website doesn't work and after reading peoples comments it doesn't look like it has been up and running for months.
Who am I supposed to contact? Any ideas on whats wrong with the thing?
To keep the answer short, just buy another sub. There is no point replacing the cone or getting it repaired, as it will cost you more than getting a new one.
If you feel confident enough to open it up, it might be a loose wire from the plug to the speaker, but I doubt it. If you turn the speaker up full blast, you should hear a humming sound, providing it is working. But to be honest, subs are so cheap these days (And you don't NEED an A/S sub) so your best bet is to get another. Sorry!
