color laser printer hooked up via USB when needed, mostly through desktop but occasionally laptop.
If I connect my printer to the router, will I be able print via my laptop on a wireless connection?
No that would require a print server and the router does not have that function. However, Look into building a Work Group in XP or vista, use help and Support it is easier than it sounds.
Connect the printer to the desk top and from Prints and faxes select your printer and Select Properties. There is a sharing tab select to share your printer with other computers.
After that your desktop will be the network Print Server.
Hope that helps.

Woah! My icon (and therefore my IP address) is completely different! Must be the USB wireless adapter I'm using because my laptop is falling apart 10 months after I bought it and my integrated wireless card is the third thing to fail.
I doubt I'll buy HP again. One should go long enough between tech support calls to find a completely different setup every time.
