What is the best amp to use with a vintage casio keyboard?
I'm looking for an amp to use with a couple of vintage casio keyboards (an SA-20 and an MT-68). I don't need extreme volume, just something loud enough for bar shows. I'm on a budget (looking for something under $500) and our band is pretty lo-fi anyways so I'm not looking for a "top of the line" amp. I've read that some use bass amps with keyboards... is this a common practice?
I would not recommend a bass amp for a keyboard. Bass amps really amplify bass (low) frequencies well. A keyboard needs full range (highs and lows) amplification.
Behringer makes some great keyboard amps for not much money:

1953 Gibson GA-40 vintage amplifier
Why is there so much background noise when i use my marshall amp, thrash metal pedal and Vintage SG guitar?
I have a Vintage SG guitar, a Reasonable Marshall amp and a brand new thrash pedal all expensive and good quality but how come when i turn on my distortion pedal the sound just screetches out of my amp unless i play something and then it sounds better as you can hear it but there is still a loud humm in the background but as soon as you stop playing again it starts making the really bad background noise, please can someone help with this?? 
If it only happens when you're not playing it could be a grounding issue with the guitar itself or the amp... but more likely if it only happens with the overdrive pedal in use it's something to do with that. Is the battery new? If it's plugged into an outlet is it grounded properly? Distortion pedals always cause a hum to sum extent because of how they work... they're overdriving the signal, and so they naturally have way more of a hum then a clean setting. Could just be that. But you may want to try it with another amp/guitar. Worst case... just sell it or bring it back to the store. Could be defective.
for new school, my main amp is a behringer modeling 2×12 with digital EVERYTHING. its ok for metal, cleans are lacking, and lose most of the volume, when switched from dirty. so it definitely has its ups and downs, but thats where my old school comes in. i'm a pedalmaniac, so the real way to sweeten up my digital-sounding amp is my crybaby with a fasel. its on most of the time, kept in one position, and then its also right there and ready for solos and my boss ds1 gives it some grit. rock on m/
